Radiohead Say True Love Waits

Image
Radiohead have a new album out,   A Moon Shaped Pool. Released just this May, the album, typical of Radiohead, is great and Thom Yorke’s voice remains as haunting, distinct and gorgeous as ever. Curiously, the album tracks include “True Love Waits,” a song that’s been quite around for many years, and was allegedly first performed by the band as far back as 1995.        After that, the song, inexplicably,   failed to land a part in any of Radiohead’s succeeding studio albums.        A fan favorite, one of my fave Radiohead tunes and a stirringly beautiful song, “True Love Waits”   speaks of the things a true love can do.   This is my interpretation of the song: the song is sung from both the male and female POVs, the first stanza is from the female POV, where she says she’s ready to   forget all her beliefs ...

A Mother's Day

Image
Mothers, of course, are the greatest creatures that ever walked the earth. Remember the saying, "Behind every great man is a woman"? That woman is that great man's mother. No matter how you look and smell, your mother will always be there to passionately love you, hold you dear, adore and worship you, take care of you, protect and nurture you, and smother you and annoy you and scare you with utmost affection. A poem declaring every mother’s greatness should be written every day, A song proclaiming every mother’s noble, although in some cases flawed, intentions towards her children should be sung every day. A holiday dedicated to all mothers should be observed every day.

How therapeutic and cathartic most of his songs are? How soothing his voice is, and how a lot of people are ruing the fact that Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran and other artists inferior to him are selling more records than him? How he writes heartbreaking songs about the hurtful relationship he had with his deceased mother? How plaintive his love songs are? That I listen to nothing but his music these past few months? I already did? Oh, okay.        Here’s Sufjan lamenting the indifference of his enchanting beloved towards him... Enchanting Ghost Tell me what you saw in me And I’ll try to replicate it with a scene Mm-mmm If it troubles you to breathe Wait a moment; I could change the scenery Don’t carry on carrying efforts, oh no, oh oh oh oh Somew...
