The Futility Of Writing A Poem Which The Addressee Would Never Read

It's like throwing A brick at the moon, hoping You'd hit it And sink it And vanish all the nights In your life

The Sweetest Eulogy

Image
After all your blood have been drained, That’s when they would treat your wound. After you became blind, That’s when they’d give you a book to read. After you’ve lost both your feet, That’s when they'd show you the joy of running. After you’ve cut your tongue off, That’s when they’d be ready to hear you sing. After you’ve lost both your arms, That’s when they’d teach you to draw. After you’ve died of a nightmare, That’s when they’d wish you ‘sweet dreams.’ And while you’re sealed inside a coffin, Waiting to be turned into ashes, That’s when they’d write you the sweetest eulogy.

Lesson From The Kama Sutra (Wait For Her) By Mahmoud Darwish (Translation by Dr. Fayeq Oweis) With a glass inlaid with gemstones, wait for her   on a pool around the evening and among the perfumed roses, wait for her… with the patience of a horse destined for the slopes of the mountains, wait for her… with a distinctive aesthetic taste of a prince, wait for her… with seven pillows stuffed with light clouds, wait for her… with the fire of women incense filling the place, wait for her… with the scent of a male sandals on horseback, wait for her… and do not rush it, if she arrives late then wait for her… and if sh...
