HALIMAW

Here's one of my horror short stories that came out in Halimaw Komiks. The images would appear cropped when scanned. He he. Sana ay maaliw kayo kahit papaano. Entitled 'Kasangkapan,' this story was illustrated by Lan Medina , who's now a famous comics illustrator abroad. He's one of my fave illustrators then, together with Rolan Guina and Toti Cerda. Here's a link to another story (entitled Sa Pagitan Ng Dalawang Sumpa) I wrote which was also illustrated by the great Lan Medina.

Sort Of A Reunion

GALO ADOR, JR - 1969-2008

"Let no man fear to die, we love to sleep all, and death is but the sounder sleep." Francis Beaumont “Sino ba’ng tatanda?” I was standing beside Galo , who at that time, as usual, was lighting another cigarette (he was a chain smoker) when he uttered those words. We were in his house, taking a break from an exhausting brainstorming for a planned TV show. The topic at that time was about going old and somebody in our group had just asked Galo on his plans “pag matatanda na tayo.” Galo was a good friend. Halos sabay kaming nagsimulang magsulat nito sa komiks. Hindi kami masyadong naging magkalapit noong nasa komiks pa kami, halos tanguan at ngitian lang ang batian namin kapag nagkikita kami. Galo, like me, loved to write brutally sad, depressing stories then. We got close when we (together with fellow komiks writers Ronald Tabuzo, Arman Francisco, Mars Alvir, Lito Tanseco and Jeffrey Ong created and financed Dark Pages , an indie comics that got lot of praises but was a dis

MAKE BLOG, NOT WAR

“Why don’t we just fill the world with blogs instead of hatred, instead of fear, of death, of misunderstanding and of things that cause global warming? Let’s all make love and make blogs and make Paris Hilton pay for her sins.” —Gardo Versace, writer, poet, painter, author of the best-selling and compelling semi-biographical crime/suspense/drama/sci-fi book, “Britney Spears’ Nude, Ugly Pet Pussy Cat Is A Murderous Alien From Planet Venus!” The quote above, a line from Versace’s critically-acclaimed book, “Paris Hilton Is The Main Cause Of Global Warming,” just won an award in the recently concluded “Look! Great Words Are Falling From Your Mouth!,” the Oscars of quotations. I agree with him. It’s better to fill this world with blogs than hatred and death so I created this blog. As for making Paris Hilton pay for her sins, I’m a little clueless about it. But I heard watching some of her videos will urge men to commit sins. I have long been toying with the idea of creating, not a blogs
