"A GREAT LEADER, A 'HAYDEN' CAMERA AND A SPELLING EXPERT"

The Philippines is a great country but it can’t be denied that some strange creatures are inhabiting it. Only in this country where you can find a former president, one who was kicked out his office by the people and who is a convicted plunderer, having the bravado to say, in effect, that he’ll run again for president if no worthwhile candidate, someone who is better than him, will emerge. This convicted thief was reportedly even quoted as saying that, “Ang kailangan ng bansang ito ay isang lider na matapat, hindi nangungupit sa kaban ng bayan, walang bisyo at tapat sa kanyang asawa!”

Hundreds of lightnings allegedly streaked from the skies while he was being quoted but unfortunately, not a single lightning hit the former president. And according to the latest surveys, Mr. Estrada is one of the frontrunners in the race to the presidency in 2010.



It is probably only in the Philippines where a government official/respected celebrity can make several commercials teaching impressionable kids wrong spelling. According to Edu Manzano and his commercials, the correct spelling of the words remittance, affordable and instant is L-B-C.

As a result of this, an elementary student was mauled by his teacher and was rushed to the ICU when the student insisted that the accurate spelling of Instant Noodles was L-B-C N-O-O-D-L-E-S. The mother, who's a fan of Edu Manzano and Ate Vi, agrees to her son’s spelling. “We’ll bring it to the Supreme Court,” the mother was quoted as saying, referring to the spelling confusion. “I’m sure that Edu and my son are correct.”



It is also only in RP where a confessed and notorious womanizer can be seen severely and publicly chastising another womanizer. Senator Bong Revilla recently delivered an angry and impassioned priviledge speech in the senate, rebuking Dr. Hayden Kho, calling the doctor ‘a predator, pervert of the highest kind, baliw and buwang!’ Is something amiss there? Well, the only difference between these two, people say, is that the senator has no sex videos. I have seen (who hasn’t?) the videos of Hidden, er, Hayden Kho (where he secretly filmed his sexual rendezvous with different women including actress Katrina Halili and the oh-so-pretty model Maricar Reyes, and I agree that he is one sick, perverted invidual and deserving, not only to be stripped of his medical license, but to be shot with all the bullets piercing his head.

The lower head, that is.

It would have been better if another senator delivered that speech, like Senator Lito Lapid for instance, who has no reputation of being a womanizer. Senator Lapid’s speech (which certainly would be written with his son Mark Lapid; the senator always prefers to communicate in Tagalog) would probably sound something like this: "Nagdugo ang aking puso nang matunghayan ko ang mga palabas na iyon kung saan walang habas na ipinamalas ng mangagamot na si Hayden Kho ang walang kahulilip na paglapastangan niya sa mga babaing ang tanging kasalanan ay ang mahalin siya at pagtiwalaan! Wala kang puso, Dr. Hayden Kho! Mabuti pa ang saging sa ‘yo dahil ang saging may puso, ikaw, wala!”
Indeed, Dr. Hayden Kho has no heart.

But he certainly has a banana, which, alas, he used in soulless and wicked activities.
