Another Angry Wife (And A Loving And Protective Husband)
Just two days after I wrote about a f-ckboy of a husband who
was caught cheating by her wife, I found myself watching this viral Facebook video of a wife who caught her husband and his mistress inside a motel as they were
climbing the stairs to go to their room. The wife was able to assault and manhandle the mistress
but was promptly separated by a security guard. The (loving) husband then rushed to her (the mistress) side to protect her, which, naturally, made the wife more furious.
Unfortunately for the husband, the wife wasn’t alone, she was with some of her
relatives or friends, who rained the mistress (and the husband) with curses, insults
and physical threats.
The still seething wife then went inside
the car (the one that her husband drove to the motel with the paramour) and the husband meekly
followed. The abandoned mistress, cowering behind the guard, looked stunned and
defeated--as if she’s expecting a fairy-tale romance but got a Game-of-Thrones
type of story instead where unsavory characters always got their comeuppance, which was
usually a violent death, like decapitation or being eaten by a dragon.
Reading the comments, the husband and the paramour, it
turned out, were colleagues in the same company. The girl, they commented,
was pretty and sweet and smart, thus, people who knew her were shocked with
what happened.
But then, these people are probably not aware of the almost
mystical charm married men wield over some single women (just like the
inexplicable romantic appeal of notorious convicts to some decent women). And
many married men know this. Not long
ago, a married relative told me that he
could get this colleague of his, a pretty single lady, if only he would pursue
her, adding that it’s not a brag but a matter of fact. What the circumstances
behind this claim were, I didn’t bother to learn, since I was sure then that it
was just a brag and a product of his wild imagination (although he mentioned
his awesome sense of humor, aside from his good looks, and the girl being a
bit touchy-feely towards him). But it’s a testimony on how some married men
think that they could get any single woman they want—just by, well, being
married.
Back to the video, I found something very funny in it. It was when the
mistress shouted to her defense, while the wife was assaulting her: “Mag-uusap
lang naman kami!"
She also has a sense of humor, apparently. I wish I had, too.
