Rewatching Inception (2010)


 


     I’ve been rewatching some of my favorite films (most of them on Netflix), really great films that really need rewatching, and I thought I’d put some of them here so whenever I revisit this blog, I’d see them and be reminded to watch them again. Lol. Some films just get better when you rewatch them.

     And just a few days ago, I rewatched Inception (2010) on Netflix.

     Starring the Leonardo DiCaprio, Inception is about a thief (DiCaprio) who steals things (ideas and information) inside a dream. He enters the dream of his target and manipulates them into giving what he wants.

     The film, IMO, is astounding in all aspects—acting, cinematography, script, etc. Take note that I’m not a film critic, just an ordinary movie fan so my opinion about any film might just be worthless. Lol.

    It also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Elliot Page (still Ellen here) and Tom Hardy.

     Director is Christopher Nolan.

     Duration is 2 hours and 28 minutes.

     Great Scene: The fight (with Joseph Gordon-Levitt) in the spinning, gravity-deprived hallway.

     Trivia: Inception was allegedly inspired by the anime film Paprika (2006).

AND HERE'S SOME BAD NEWS...

Seventeen years ago, Maureen Hultman, 16 years old, Roland John Chapman, 21 and Jussi Olavi Leino, 24, were returning home from a party when they were accosted and confronted by Claudio Teehankee Jr, 45. Teehankee, who was unknown to the three, demanded some identification. Leino took out his wallet and showed Teehankee an ID. Chapman approached them and asked Teehankee: “Why are you bothering us?” Teehankee drew out his gun and shot Chapman in the chest. “Why did you shoot me?” Chapman asked Teehankee as he was crumpling to the ground. Chapman died on the spot. Teehankee then ordered the now hysterical Hultman and Leino to sit together on the sidewalk. While seated, unarmed and begging for mercy, the two were gunned down by Teehankee. Hultman was killed while Leino survived and later identified Teehankee as the gunman. While The Room Dances (And The Night Sways)

       Few days ago, I had another bout of severe dizziness. The last one occurred a few years ago, way before the pandemic. I woke up at around two in the morning with my room spinning and I was perspiring really cold sweats. I thought I was about to have a heart attack (that is what Google will tell you when you look for it) so I grabbed my phone when the vertigo subsided and deactivated my Facebook account. That has been my plan, to have my social media account die with me. So I lay there (strangely relaxed) in my bed while the room danced in the darkness and the night swayed and cold sweats broke out from every part of my body and waited for the attack.
