An Exhibitionist Atop A Motorcycle

A few weeks ago, I got a bit drawn to watching these motorcycle crashes reels (from different countries) which appeared every now and then on my social media feeds, and I found myself being wickedly gratified. No, these aren’t those motorcycle crashes where people ride their motorbikes normally to go to their destination and unfortunately suffer an accident, but motorcycle crashes where the riders are doing some exhibitions (they aren’t going anywhere but just showing off their mad motorcycle skills in a road full of innocent motorists and pedestrians) without any protective gears.

A lot of these riders have suffered major injuries while showing off, some even died (imagine getting off balance without a helmet while riding a speeding motorcycle; the pavement would surely gladly welcome your head and crack them).

Evel Knievel, at least, wore a helmet.

And then just this morning, I saw this post, a rant about these motorcycle riders who get off doing some scary and difficult motorbike stunts. Apparently, the poster saw another post where some people are asking for financial help for a family member who suffered major injuries while being very daring atop a motorbike.

The poster was very adamant in declaring that people should not give any financial assistance to that injured rider. “This rider,” he said, “was boasting and showing off atop a motorcycle, an activity that is so pointless and dangerous, not caring about his own safety and the safety of motorists and pedestrians around him, so why would we care about him now?”

Would I donate to that injured rider, just in case?

I don’t know, but if it’s an injured dog, I would in a heartbeat, even if it got injured riding a motorbike without any protective gears and concerns for safety.
