Help!

This Saturday is Listening to Beatles day.

And the Beatles album of the day is Help!

Tell Me What You See (Lennon/McCartney)

If you let me take your heart, I will prove to you
We will never be apart, if I'm part of you
Open up your eyes now, tell me what you see
It is no surprise now, what you see is me

Big and black the clouds may be, time will pass away
If you put your trust in me, I'll make bright your day
Look into these eyes now, tell me what you see
Don't you realize now, what you see is me
Tell me what you see

Listen to me one more time, how can I get through?
Can't you try to see that I'm, trying to get to you?
Open up your eyes now, tell me what you see
It is no surprise now, what you see is me
Tell me what you see

Listen to me one more time, how can I get through?
Can't you try to see that I'm, trying to get to you?
Open up your eyes now, tell me what you see
It is no surprise now, what you see is me

Mmm mmm mmm mmm mmm

Help! Was released on August 6, 1965

The album has 14 songs, which include “Yesterday,” “Ticket To Ride,” “It’s Only Love” and the title track.

It was nominated in the category Album of the Year at the 1966 Grammy Awards.

Allegedly, the Beatles smoked cannabis habitually while recording the album, the reason some of the songs (“You’ve Got To Hide Your love Away,” “Ticket to Ride”) acquired “emotional depth.” Bob Dylan introduced marijuana to the group in 1964.

John Lennon once declared that the song “Help!” was his favorite Beatles song. Originally, the song had a slower tempo but John sped it up to make it more commercial, which he later regretted.

The song “Help!” was John Lennon’s real cry for help as he was being overwhelmed and confused by their extreme popularity, and the fact that at that time, he felt insecure as he was eating so much and getting fat.

There is also a movie called Help! starring the Beatles, released also in 1965.
