A Facebook Page Called Tiny Windows
So three weeks ago, I created a Facebook page (which I called Tiny Windows) for the flash fiction/short stories that would pop every now and then in my brain. I usually liberate them from my head by posting them here on this blog, never caring if someone would read it, but, then one day, while scrolling on my News Feed, I saw a page that featured short stories, so I thought, yeah, I could do that.
I sent around 100 invites (only to FB friends I have/had some personal interactions), and around 40 of them responded and followed the page, which is quite okay as majority of people on Facebook just ignore invitations to like a page, though, in my case, I try to respond to all the invites I receive, especially pages I could relate. Just don’t send me invites for a page named Zumba Lovers or one that is dedicated to glorifying serial killers.
You can’t cancel and resend invites so I sent a PM to people (around 10) who I thought didn’t see my invites and who wouldn’t hesitate to respond positively to it. 8 out 10 responded positively. The remaining two are probably inactive on social media or secretly hate me. I didn’t bother sending a PM to people I was sure would just ignore it.
As of now, the page has 56 followers, and it’d certainly be nice if the number would grow a little bit more. But don’t get me wrong, 56 is a huge number already. Imagine having 56 houses, or 56 cars, or 56 girlfriends. That is just too much. LOL.
