The Life of Some People, Including A Few Dysfunctional Superheroes

They met each other through a Facebook page called “The Life of An Introvert” months before COVID-19 hit. He posted something and she commented and that started things for them. But the pandemic began even before they could meet personally. But when the lockdown eased a bit and travels were allowed, he didn’t have a second thought and decided to visit her in her house. One minor hitch: she lives in Pangasinan and he lives in Cavite. 300 kilometers separate them and he has no mode of transport except for his bicycle. But who was the guy that said “love conquers all?” His name started with the letter V, I think. He rode on his bicycle, and despite the inclement weather that day, decided to bike his way to her house and finally see her. They are now officially a couple. No drama, no doubts, just pure love for each other.

My niece, who lately is also having a little difficulty sleeping at night like his uncle, purchased a weighted blanket that she hopes will help her get good sleep. She’s working from home and still, her job (and the pandemic) sort of stresses her. The life of insomniacs is one life you shouldn’t envy.

I started watching another hit superhero series, The Umbrella Academy. It’s about dysfunctional (adopted) superhero siblings who reunite to solve the mystery behind their adoptive father’s death and to prevent the impending end of the world. The life of troubled superheroes certainly amuses lots of people.

I’m about to finish a new (English) novel, the process of writing it is a crawling mess, maybe because I don’t know what to do with it once it is finished. Lol. I think I need beta reader/editor for it. But no, I’ll just probably reread and revise and rewrite it till kingdom come. Most of the time, the life of a (cheapskate) writer isn’t a bed of roses.

Life, in general, is often not seen through rose-colored glasses, and it will give you more lemons than apples or any of your favorite fruits and not anyone who bikes 300 kilometers or more through the rain will find love.

     But life goes on, yes.
