I Have Two Hands, The Left And The Right

This afternoon, I read an article about a young Australian lady, who often struggles with directions, who had a letter “L” tattooed on her left hand and “R” on her right hand to tell her which is her left and which is her right. And it reminded me that I am, too, is not really good with directions. Whenever I enter a mall that I really don't frequent, I would always get lost inside and wouldn't find my way out. One time, we were in this mall and I got out of the restaurant where we were eating to go the bathroom, which was a bit far from the restaurant. Naturally, I had a hard time getting back to the restaurant that they thought I went home ahead of them. So now, whenever I am inside a maze of a mall or any place, and I’d like to find a spot again, I would remember landmarks near them.

Then, many years ago, I came to know this beautiful, brainy, sexy, flawless lady who was worse than me when it came to directions— like the young Aussie, she had difficulty telling right from left. The first time she told me about it, I just laughed, not taking it seriously. But then, later, I realized that she was telling the truth—one time, we were walking inside a mall and I told her to turn left as she was walking ahead of me, and she stopped walking and faced me with a nonplussed expression on her face and asked which one was left.

I don’t know if it had crossed her mind to have her hands tattooed with L and R. Or maybe she got those letters embedded on her hands right now.
