The Secretary, The Psychiatrist And The Gorgeous Nutty Wife

It has a massive plot twist at the ending, say the reviews, and I’m not one who shy away from plot twist, especially if it’s described as massive, so I watched Netflix’s newest limited series, Behind Her Eyes, which is dubbed as a psychological thriller. It has six episodes, each one clocking at around one hour, and I’ve finished them all. And well, yes, that is one massive plot twist at the ending.

The premise: a secretary has an affair with her new boss, a beleaguered psychiatrist, whose gorgeous wife is a little mysterious, intriguing and… nutty who seems to have this power of spying on people and knowing things she shouldn’t.

The show isn’t perfect, first thing off, it should have been labeled as a fantasy-mystery-thriller because of the astral projection thingy. It’s a slow burn, the lead stars are good actors, cinematography is good, and I was happily surprised to learn that one of the lead stars, the one who plays the nutty but exquisite wife (Eve Hewson) is the daughter of Bono (of U2).

It’s quite entertaining, probably worth to spend six hours of your life on it, watch it if you like exclaiming “What the f*ck!” at a show’s denouement.

3 1/2 stars out of five.  The extra ½ star because Eve Hewson is perfect for her role.
