Everybody Waits

A cat waits for the fish to jump out of the bowl

A dog waits for its master to come home

A butterfly waits for a flower to bloom

A bird waits for its eggs to hatch

An ant waits for a grain to fall

A bee waits for the night to rest

A lover waits for a sign to pursue

A doctor waits for his patient to breathe

An atheist waits for a miracle to believe

     A priest waits with him

A criminal waits for its prey to relax

A creator waits for his muse to create

A billionaire waits for his slave

A failure waits for just a little break

A believer waits for the rapture

A tired gravedigger waits with him

And a miser waits for the world to end

Me, I’m just waiting for a Wi-Fi signal.
