Donald, Michael and A Dinner Party
That one night
You made everything alright
So raw, so right, all night, alright
Oh, yeah
I read a
comment on a Facebook post that says Donald Trump is basically Michael Scott
from The Office. It makes sense,
because the two men, according to their critics, are both arrogant and have
gigantic sense of self-importance. That they are both self-professed geniuses
(but are actually idiots, childlike, immature, and incompetent managers) and
think they know about everything and are better than everyone else.
Trump
repeatedly says that he is going to lower drug prices by 500, 600 percent while
Scott says he is not superstitious but just a little stitious.
Both suffer
from pathological need to be liked and admired.
Doctors
think these two men suffer from malignant narcissism and histrionic personality
disorder (and also dementia for Trump.)
But according
to his critics, Trump is much worse than Scott, and actually one of the most
horrible human beings in the world. Unlike Trump, Scott is not a convicted sex
offender. He’s not accused of being a pedophile or a child rapist. He’s not
accused of grifting and making illegal money from his work, and he is real funny and actually sort of lovable. And he
often shows genuine concern for his subordinates, whom he calls family.
Finally, I
was able to watch Dinner Party (season
4, episode 13 of The Office), which
according to lots of fans, is the best, the funniest, and most cringe-worthy episode of
the series. And they’re probably right, I almost fell twice off my chair from laughing
too much.
