A FEW MORE NOTES ABOUT SUICIDE

Image
One of the most frequented entries in this blogsite is the article I wrote entitled Kurt Cobain, Ernest Hemingway And A Few Notes About Suicide, which is sort of a proof that a lot of people around the world are fascinated with suicide and that they always search the net for information about it. Sadly, here in the Philippines, almost everyday, a couple of news about people committing suicide are reported on the papers. Just a few weeks ago, a woman jumped in front of the speeding LRT train to the horror of the passengers. Luckily, she survived. The woman said she couldn’t bear life’s hardships anymore and wanted to escape it. And as I was writing this, a great debate on whether a certain woman committed suicide or was murdered was shaking the nation. Last week, Holy Monday to be exact, some of our neighbors were baffled when a foul place permeated the neighborhood. The Sherlock Holmes in them was awakened and they investigated. It turned out that a 38-year old man who lived i

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. " -- Jesus, Matthew 11:28 We all know how Jesus died but not everyone ‘s aware of how his original twelve apostles died. Most of them were reportedly martyred while preaching the teachings of Jesus. PETER: The apostle who denied the Lord was crucified 33-34 years after the death of Jesus. But since he deemed unworthy to be put to death in the same manner as his master, he requested that he be crucified on an x-shaped cross with his head downward. "Forgive them father, they know not what they do..." In an internet forum which I frequent, there’s a thread that discusses whether God exists or not. If you’d read the arguments of the atheists there, you’d easily be brainwashed that God doesn’t exist and is just a figment of some people’s vivid imaginations and of those looking for something to cling on to during desperate times. But browse through the messages of the believers, you’d also be convinced in no time that God really exists and that He truly is omnipotent and omnipresent. Most of the posters there are intellectuals and highly-articulate and have minds that are highly analytical so I rarely join in the discussions. When the people I talk to start quoting Nietzsche and start deliberating on various profound topics like the benefits on your soul of Azoodneim , a process in which you literally scrub your soul to cleanse it, I always get awestruck and tongue-tied and my little brain becomes catatonic, although
