The Game Of Thrones Is Over (And The Finale Disappoints)

Image
“There's nothing more powerful in the world than a good story.”                                                                                    Tyrion Lannister      Game of Thrones aired its last episode this morning, and like the other episodes of Season 8, writing wise, to a lot of its fans, it leaves much to be desired. The episode felt rushed, the whole season felt rushed, and it’s so disappointing because Game of Thrones , from Season 1 to Season 6 was simply perfection, the show was so stunning, so incredibly smart and spectacular that you’d think TV was invented so it could air this show—until seasons 7 and 8 happened, especially season 8. For crying out loud, you can’t murder a queen, a major character at that, with thousands of rabidly loyal and armed and bloodthirsty supporters, without a bloody and chaotic repercussion, a ramification so violent and epic that it deserves a 10-episode season to be resolved—but no, at the next scene, the crisis was q

A Few Tears Fell Over Avengers: Endgame

The Avengers: Endgame is now the second highest-grossing film of all time next to Avatar, surpassing Titanic. Endgame is stunning but I liked Infinity War a lot better. Infinity War is the better and more entertaining movie of the two for me. Funnier, too. While Infinity War has spectacular fight scenes from the get go, Endgame at the beginning is slow, contemplative and, well, a bit boring. And why did they portray Thor as childish and irresponsible, becoming alcoholic, fat and depressed after failing to kill Thanos.   He’s a god, for crying out loud. And Hulk? Why did he become amiable  Incredible Bruce. He’s cute and adorable but that’s not what Incredible Hulk is about. Hulk is all about anger and releasing it and smashing things. So the future Captain America is black? And how on earth would Earth cope with the return of billions of people who have been   considered dead for five years?      But I agree that Endgame would make you cry. My heart inde

Cynical Days

Help me get through these cynical days, Help me get through my cynical ways You say it's just a passing phase, You've got to help me get through, these cynical days…                                              XTC, "Cynical Days" Rushing to a movie house to catch Avengers: Endgame even if you’re under the weather only to find out that Avengers: Infinity War is the better and more entertaining film. Learning a relative is on her way to recovery, only to attend her wake after a few days. Realizing that a 50k-word novel you've just finished has nowhere to go. Accepting that the only reason perhaps why you met this someone is so this someone could destroy you. Seeing that your bank account and piggy bank are on the verge of depletion. Watching disappointing final episodes of Game of Thrones. Confirming that most of your fellow countrymen are thoroughly idiotic when it comes to electing their leaders.
