The Secretary, The Psychiatrist And The Gorgeous Nutty Wife

Image
It has a massive plot twist at the ending, say the reviews, and I’m not one who shy away from plot twist, especially if it’s described as massive , so I watched Netflix’s newest limited series, Behind Her Eyes , which is dubbed as a psychological thriller. It has six episodes, each one clocking at around one hour, and I’ve finished them all. And well, yes, that is one massive plot twist at the ending.      The premise: a secretary has an affair with her new boss, a beleaguered psychiatrist, whose gorgeous wife is a little mysterious, intriguing and… nutty who seems to have this power of spying on people and knowing things she shouldn’t.      The show isn’t perfect, first thing off, it should have been labeled as a fantasy-mystery-thriller because of the astral projection thingy. It’s a slow burn, the lead stars are good actors, cinematography is good, and I was happily surprised to learn that one of the lead stars, the one who plays the nutty but exquisite wife (Eve Hewson

A New Smartphone And The Need To Download Apps

Image
I recently had gotten myself a new smartphone, OnePlus Nord N10, it’s a new brand, I think. It’s an affordable midrange smartphone and I'm not a smartphone expert but I think it’s good for its price. It’s 5G, size is 6.42 x 2.94 inches, dual nano-SIM, has a nice 64MP main camera, good enough for selfies and photos of your cats and dogs, impressive battery life and it's fast charging and the thing I like most about it is its storage of 128GB. My old phone, a Huawei, has an almost non-existent storage that every time I ‘d try to DL a new app, however small it is, it’d ask me to delete existing apps first, which is something I really would like to oblige, only one problem, the phone has no uninstallable apps anymore, except Facebook and Messenger. And what kind of person doesn’t have FB and Messenger on their phone? Even the tiny Checkers app, which I love to play, didn’t survive, and it irritated me no end.      But with my 128GB new phone, that ceases to be a problem

I Have Two Hands, The Left And The Right

Image
This afternoon, I read an article about a young Australian lady, who often struggles with directions, who had a letter “L” tattooed on her left hand and “R” on her right hand to tell her which is her left and which is her right. And it reminded me that I am, too, is not really good with directions. Whenever I enter a mall that I really don't frequent, I would always get lost inside and wouldn't find my way out. One time, we were in this mall and I got out of the restaurant where we were eating to go the bathroom, which was a bit far from the restaurant. Naturally, I had a hard time getting back to the restaurant that they thought I went home ahead of them. So now, whenever I am inside a maze of a mall or any place, and I’d like to find a spot again, I would remember landmarks near them.      Then, many years ago, I came to know this beautiful, brainy, sexy, flawless lady who was worse than me when it came to directions— like the young Aussie, she had difficulty

Bewildering

Walang tigil ang gulo sa aking pag-iisip Mula nang tayo'y nagpasyang maghiwalay Nagpaalam 'pagkat hindi tayo bagay Nakapagtataka hooh... This morning, I woke up to the sound of a man singing “Nakapagtataka.” I winced as I thought it was too early for videoke. I grudgingly got out of bed, sat on its edge and stared at nothingness for a few seconds., then meditated on why a man would choose to sing a breakup song at this time, when the day was just starting, bringing with it the promise of unlimited blessings to the faithful. I went downstairs, went straight to the kitchen and made myself coffee, black, no cream, no sugar, and unlike James Bond’s martini, stirred, not shaken. Napahid ng mga luha Damdamin at puso'y

Cold Weather, Stuffy Nose, The Beautiful South And Ingrid Bergman

Image
“I want my love, my joy, my laugh, my smile, my needs Not in the star signs Or the palm that she reads I want my sun-drenched, wind-swept Ingrid Bergman kiss Not in the next life I want it in this I want it in this …”      It is requisite that my allergic rhinitis flare up during cold weather, and it has been cold the last few days, so for the last three days, my nose is stuffy as hell, my head aches and I sneeze a lot, I have the urge to cough every now and I have a recurring slight fever and would have breathing difficulties every now and then. So I just would rest most of the day, and I find myself rediscovering the beautiful songs of The Beautiful South and nerdy Paul Heaton’s gorgeous voice, with “Good As Gold” infecting me with LSS.   If I were paranoid, I’d think that I have the symptoms of COVID-19 and that I should have myself tested. Lol. But I’m not paranoid, well, sometimes, I get anxious when I don’t feel well and anxiety sometimes makes me a little paranoid. B
