A Sick Dog And An Uphill Battle

This is somewhat a day of relief for us as after two and a half days of confinement inside a veterinary clinic, we were able to bring back our pet beagle home. He got sick with ehrlichiosis, a bacterial infection that primarily infects the cells of the immune system. Apparently, he was bitten by an infected tick, which was quite a surprise to us because we regularly give him an anti-flea and anti-tick chew (a costly protection for dogs). And we have no idea where he was bitten, maybe, while he was being walked outside or playing with other dogs.

He became noticeably lethargic and would barely eat—so we took him to his vet, who confirmed that he was indeed sick and needed adequate veterinary attention. So there, he was given dextrose and medicines. Anyway, he looks okay now, no more lethargy and is now eating well, but he still needs to take these gazillion of medicines given to us by the veterinarian.

And since we know how quite hostile our dog is when it comes to giving him medicines, the journey to him being completely healed would be a perilous and an uphill battle.
