A Black Ink Comics (Manga) Adaptation of Heart Yngrid's Fortune of the Heart





The comic book/manga adaptation of Fortune of the Heart ( a Precious Hearts Romances novel) I made for Black Ink Comics is now out in the market. Fortune of the Heart (the novel) is written by Heart Yngrid, a bestselling PHR author. This comic book is one of my last few works for BlackInk Comics, so it’s a definite collector’s item. He he.  Yup, I am no longer a part of Black Ink and most likely won’t be contributing to them anymore.



Released simultaneously with FOTH is the 4th installment of Tonio Tikbalang, created by Jake Vicente.

Please support Filipino-produced books and comic books, while I ponder what and where to write next—and since there ain’t much comic book publishers here (alas, most comic books here are independently published as comic books don’t have that much a market here and every Pinoy artist knows how expensive it is to create their own komiks)—I’d probably go back to prose and scratch my writing itch there. 

Meanwhile, I'll continue to slightly scrape that itch by writing inessential entries for this blog.

AND HERE'S SOME BAD NEWS...

Seventeen years ago, Maureen Hultman, 16 years old, Roland John Chapman, 21 and Jussi Olavi Leino, 24, were returning home from a party when they were accosted and confronted by Claudio Teehankee Jr, 45. Teehankee, who was unknown to the three, demanded some identification. Leino took out his wallet and showed Teehankee an ID. Chapman approached them and asked Teehankee: “Why are you bothering us?” Teehankee drew out his gun and shot Chapman in the chest. “Why did you shoot me?” Chapman asked Teehankee as he was crumpling to the ground. Chapman died on the spot. Teehankee then ordered the now hysterical Hultman and Leino to sit together on the sidewalk. While seated, unarmed and begging for mercy, the two were gunned down by Teehankee. Hultman was killed while Leino survived and later identified Teehankee as the gunman.
