A Short Conversation

I saw this post on Facebook just a few days ago: a screenshot of a short conversation between a single mom and a potential partner, and gossipy that I am, I wanted to react. Lol. The mom was thanking him for a wonderful dinner date, but the guy brutally responded by telling her that he didn’t want to pursue a relationship with her because of her child, saying that she should’ve just aborted the baby—which utterly offended the lady. I’m guessing that the child was a product of a flawed relationship, or specifically, a flawed former partner.

I don’t know if it’s real or just a made-up screenshot to garner reactions. It’s been hard to differentiate real from fake since the advent of AI, but most of the comments were bashing the guy.

I don’t want to judge this guy, maybe, he was traumatized by some children of a single mom before. And I am not against legalizing abortion. Women are the ruler of their own body, and they should be allowed to decide freely regarding their body, life and their future, as long as it wouldn’t endanger their safety. If giving birth to that baby would imperil their health or if having that baby would punish them and torture them mentally all their life, why should society force them to have it?

But it would be wrong, almost criminal, to chastise a woman for choosing to have her child. So, yeah, if you’re a single mom who wants a complete family for your next child with a loving partner, it would be so right not to chase this man.

Find a partner who wouldn’t be picky and judgmental over your past mistakes.

The fact that one calls it a mistake means that they regret it.
