Metahumans and Some Scary Ideas

 



     I was watching season 2 of Peacemaker (starring John Cena), which explores metahumans (individuals with superpowers) and I remembered reading a Stephen Hawking interview where he said that in the near future, genes would be edited and enhanced, allowing super humans to be created. I’d like to have invisibility power, so people I owe money to wouldn’t be able to see me. Scary, because what if these super humans had criminal mindsets. Mr. Hawking also warned that Earth might be destroyed by an asteroid, just like what happened to the dinosaurs. And unlike in the movies, even super humans will be no match for an asteroid.

     Conversations between officials and supporters of US President Donald Trump were leaked and it showed how they loved and adored Hitler and his gas chambers and how they fantasized torturing, raping and killing their political opponents. They called black people as monkeys and expressed their desire to bring back slavery. Scary, because what if one of these people becomes president? Trump is already damaging America, and someone with Hitler-like tendencies would endanger the world. Anyone who professes love for Hitler and dreams of imitating everything he did should be locked up in a psychiatric ward forever.

     Chavit Singson, a filthy rich Filipino politician and former governor of Ilocos Sur, is being linked to a certain Jillian Ward. I didn’t know her, so I made some research and learned that she’s a pretty young actress and that she’s only twenty. Chavit is eighty-four. Really scary if the rumors linking the two were true. Mr. Singson has already denied the rumors. But it is a fact that he keeps being linked to pretty celebrities young enough to be his great granddaughters. Maybe, just maybe, Mr. Singson is a metahuman.

    It’s 69 days, 11 hours, 8 minutes and 30 seconds until Christmas.

While The Room Dances (And The Night Sways)

       Few days ago, I had another bout of severe dizziness. The last one occurred a few years ago, way before the pandemic. I woke up at around two in the morning with my room spinning and I was perspiring really cold sweats. I thought I was about to have a heart attack (that is what Google will tell you when you look for it) so I grabbed my phone when the vertigo subsided and deactivated my Facebook account. That has been my plan, to have my social media account die with me. So I lay there (strangely relaxed) in my bed while the room danced in the darkness and the night swayed and cold sweats broke out from every part of my body and waited for the attack.
